چکیده

By heating of FeCl2 and MnCl2 in the ionic liquid [BMIm][OTf] (BMIm: 1-butyl-3methylimidazolium, OTf: trifluoromethanesulfonate), the compounds [BMIm][M(OTf)3] (M: Fe+II, Mn+II) have been obtained as colorless crystals. Similarly, [BMIm][Li(OTf)2] was synthesized by heating of LiCl in [BMIm][OTf]. While the crystal quality of the [BMIm][M(OTf)3] (M: Fe+II, Mn+II) products thus obtained is low, mild oxidation of Fe(CO)5 or Mn2(CO)10 with GeI4 applied as an alternative in the same ionic liquid allowed a slow growth of well-formed, needle-shaped crystals. According to X-ray structure analysis based on single crystals, [BMIm][M(OTf)3] (M: Fe+II, Mn+II) crystals are monoclinic, and [BMIm][Li(OTf)2] crystals are triclinic. All compounds form infinite 1 ∞[M(OTf)3] (M = Fe, Mn) and 1 ∞[Li(OTf)2] chains. The compounds have further been characterized by FT-IR spectroscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX), differential thermal analysis (DTA), thermogravimetry (TG), and magnetic measurements.

[bmim][OTf] as co-solvent/promoter in room temperature reactivity-based one-pot glycosylation reactions.

[bmim][OTf] can promote regio- and chemo-selective glycosylation reactions at room temperature. Furthermore, the applicability to ambient three-component reactivity-based one-pot glycosylation reactions is demonstrated for the synthesis of several trisaccharides.

Use of ionic liquids (ILs) for the IL-anion size-dependent formation of Cr, Mo and W nanoparticles from metal carbonyl M(CO)6 precursors.

Stable chromium, molybdenum and tungsten nanoparticles are obtained reproducibly by thermal or photolytic decomposition under argon from mononuclear metal carbonyl precursors M(CO)(6) (M=Cr, Mo, W) suspended in the ionic liquids BMim(+)BF(4)(-), BMim(+)OTf(-) and BtMA(+)Tf(2)N(-) (BMim(+)=n-butyl-methyl-imidazolium, BtMA(+)=n-butyl-trimethyl-ammonium, Tf(2)N=N(O(2)SCF(3))(2), OTf=O(3)SCF(3)) wi...

Copper(II) triflate-mediated synthesis of 1,3,5-triarylpyrazoles in [bmim][PF6] ionic liquid and evaluation of their anticancer activities

A simple, efficient, and environmentally friendly protocol for the synthesis of 1,3,5-triarylpyrazole in [bimm][PF6] ionic liquid mediated by Cu(OTf)2 is described. The reaction protocol gave 1,3,5-triarylpyrazoles in good to high yields (71-82%) via a one-pot addition–cyclocondensation between hydrazines and chalcones, and oxidative aromatization without requirement for an additional oxidizing...

Direct Transformation of Fructose and Glucose to 5- Hydroxymethylfurfural in Ionic Liquids under Mild Conditions

Direct dehydration of fructose and glucose to 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (5HMF) was studied using ionic liquids (ILs) without adding any catalysts. Various ILs were screened, and the highest 5-HMF yield of 95.6% was obtained using 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tosylate ([BMIM][TSO]) at 353 K for 30 min. Proton nuclear magnetic resonance (H NMR) spectra confirmed that the sulfonate hydrolysates of an...

Triflic acid-catalyzed adamantylation of aromatics in [BMIM][OTf] ionic liquid; synthetic scope and mechanistic insight.

A mild and efficient process has been developed for the one-pot adamantylation of aromatic substrates employing 1-AdaOH, 1-AdaCl, 1-AdaBr, and 1-Br-3,5,7-trimethyladamantane as adamantylating agents, with triflic acid (TfOH) as promoter and n-butylmethylimidazolium triflate [BMIM][OTf] room temperature ionic liquid (IL) as solvent. The influence of reaction temperature, reaction time and the am...
